What to bring to a first meeting with a business lawyer
A short checklist that helps a first meeting turn into a clear plan and a written scope.

A first meeting goes further when the lawyer can see the documents behind the question. You do not need a perfect file, only the papers that explain how the business is set up today.
Bring what exists
Formation documents, any shareholder or partnership agreement, recent contracts with customers and suppliers, and a short list of the decisions you are trying to make in the next year.
Bring your questions
Write down what keeps you up at night. A good meeting ends with a written scope, a fee estimate and a plan for what happens next.
